All of the timber used within our sub-frames are regularised, quality stamped and graded to a minimum C16 strength. All of our sub-frame timber is pressure treated and designed for use outdoors. It carries a 15 year guarantee against insect attack and fungal decay for your piece of mind. We use either ex100x50mm (4”X2”) or ex150x50mm (6”x2”) sizes dependent on your requirements.
Our sub-frames are fixed into place using a system of 100x100mm (4”x4”) posts, which are concreted into the ground to make an ultra secure sub-frame system. Our posts are pressure treated in the same way as our subframes.
The next consideration is what type of deck board you want. We offer two different types of board.
The most popular type is our 120x28mm board which comes in a variety of lengths. It has a grooved pattern one side and is plain on the other, which gives many design possibilities. It is made of European redwood and is slow grown in the Northern Scandinavian countries from which it is sourced. This gives the board a good strength and durability, whilst reducing the risk of warping and shakes (cracking or splitting).
For a small additional premium of you can opt for the Arbordeck brand of deck board, which offers all the benefits of our own but is 4mm thicker. As we are independent, we can also work with any other type of board should you choose to specify this.
Both types of board are pressure treated as previously covered.
The final consideration is whether you require handrail. There are many options in this area, and it is probably a good idea to check out the gallery and also the Arbordeck website to give you ideas on what is available. I will be happy to provide additional advice on this subject for you.
Finally I need to mention that we are also able to take on all other aspects of your garden design if required to do so and would be pleased to quote for that additional work.
